When Lourenço Moreira fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Espinhosela's protests and gave Lourenço Moreira a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of SC Espinhosela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Touguinho:s goal. When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Touguinho's Sérgio Gaspar got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Armando Viegas. In the 28th minute Simão Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Viegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Simão Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee gave SC Espinhosela a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lourenço Moreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Touguinho's Cândido Guerreiro. 2-1. Rui Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 49th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rui Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Touguinho fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 48th minute. Penalty! Touguinho:s Cândido Guerreiro showed great skill when he stopped Lourenço Moreira:s penalty. Lourenço Moreira scored 2-2 in the 50th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cândido Guerreiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Simão Guerreiro made the kick off in the second half. Armando Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Morais, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Espinhosela's goalkeeper Armando Viegas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Touguinho's Cândido Guerreiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Torres in the 68th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Viegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cândido Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Torres in the 88th minute of the match. Emanuel Martins struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Cândido Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Espinhosela. After a defensive mix-up in Touguinho's zone, Fernando Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cândido Guerreiro came out of the goal and Fernando Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernando Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 99th minute, Jacinto Morais left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Touguinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Touguinho had won after a very even match.
