Jaime Valente came out of the goal and Lucas Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Inácio Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Óscar Pinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Óscar Pinto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inácio Silva was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Alfredo Brás scored 0-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Inácio Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mariano Guarda's late challenge caught a SC Roda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Guarda helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Vargos FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Mariano Guarda hit a great ball. SC Roda's Joaquim Nogueira couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Vargos FC. Óscar Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Inácio Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vargos FC's Miguel Neves got a free kick in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vargos FC's zone, Óscar Pinto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 42nd match minute, Vargos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Óscar Pinto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute António Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, António Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vargos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jaime Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 63 minutes, Lucas Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vargos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 64 minutes of play, Vargos FC's António Guerreiro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jaime Valente was left in no man's land by his defense there! Óscar Pinto struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Inácio Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Roda. If Alfredo Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Vargos FC's Inácio Silva got control of the ball when Alfredo Brás tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inácio Silva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Luz in the 80th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Vargos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Guarda to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to SC Roda getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Óscar Pinto hit a great ball. The SC Roda players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
