Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lucas Cruz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Vargos FC's Adelino Correia got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 8 minutes into the game, Contins FC's Paulo Mendes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Inácio Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 11thth minute of the game Paulo Mendes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vargos FC's Inácio Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Inácio Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute of the match Contins FC got a corner. Vargos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristiano Almeida ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Ricardo Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Mariano Guarda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucas Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Domingos Nunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Paulo Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Contins FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Mendes couldn't finish the play. Amadeu Paiva's late challenge caught a Vargos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeu Paiva helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Contins FC got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Paiva. If António Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Paulo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Contins FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Mendes made a kick off. Contins FC's Domingos Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Guerreiro in the 53rd minute of play. Alexandre Borba hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Ricardo Cardoso made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 57thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Inácio Silva would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. If Paulo Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Ricardo Cardoso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Inácio Silva made a huge save. Lucas Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Nunes having to interfere. Contins FC's Domingos Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Cruz in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Contins FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexandre Borba was slow to take the kick. During this time Vargos FC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Paulo Lopes managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 97 minutes, André Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Contins FC and the Vargos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Contins FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 96th minute. Penalty! Alexandre Borba placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The Contins FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Contins FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
