Joaquim Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Óscar Pinto struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Nuno Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Roda. 9 minutes into the match, SC Murraca's goalkeeper Nuno Fontes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Brás. SC Murraca's Nuno Fontes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save SC Murraca from getting a goal against them. When Alfredo Brás came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the SC Roda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfredo Brás couldn't finish the play. In the 13th match minute, SC Murraca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Paredes to maneuver through the defense. SC Murraca's Nuno Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Óscar Pinto in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, SC Roda's Alfredo Brás sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nuno Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Óscar Pinto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Fontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. If Joaquim Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artur Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, SC Roda's Joaquim Nogueira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Nuno Fontes made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Alfredo Brás sent off a good shot on target. Óscar Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Óscar Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Murraca getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. José Ramos hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Óscar Pinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SC Roda's Jaime Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Paredes in the 52nd minute of play. Alfredo Brás recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of SC Murraca booed when SC Roda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the game Daniel Paredes kicked a great long shot which passed Jaime Valente straight ahead into the goal, Result 0-1. One couldn't see Daniel Paredes behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. Carlos Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Joaquim Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Valente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes in the 67th minute of play. In the 70th minute, David Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Óscar Pinto came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the SC Roda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Óscar Pinto couldn't finish the play. Manuel Baptista hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Alfredo Brás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80th play minutes Óscar Pinto shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Nuno Fontes and just under the crossbar into goal. Jaime Valente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Paredes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Brás struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute.
