Jacinto Lima shot from long distance in the 23rd minute, but Joel Setúbal was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Alexandre Pires got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 33rd minute of the match, Alexandre Pires got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joel Setúbal was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. If Pedro Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filipe Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Nunes having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Pedro Rodrigues notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cuvinho FC's Bernardo Nunes. Bernardo Nunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henrique Machado was the one to do the kick off. Alexandre Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Setúbal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Pires in the 62nd minute of play forced Portomar FC's goalkeeper Joel Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portomar FC's goalkeeper Joel Setúbal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Filipe Paiva notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Cuvinho FC's Bernardo Nunes. Bernardo Nunes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joaquim Gonçalves's shot from long distance in the 93rd minute was not bad at all, but Cuvinho FC's Bernardo Nunes knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. In the 95th minute Portomar FC were awarded a corner. Joaquim Gonçalves went to the cornerflag to take it. The Portomar FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Portomar FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
