In the 5th match minute, Espartosa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Pinto to maneuver through the defense. Cláudio Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Castro having to interfere. 9 minutes into the game, Jorge Garcia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espartosa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Navais the free kick. In the 9th minute, one of Espartosa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Espartosa FC. The goalkeeper, Ricardo Castro, was totally fooled by SC Navais's Fernando Araújo, who 11 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Fernando Araújo charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Araújo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th minute, Fernando Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Garcia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sérgio Barbosa. SC Navais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sérgio Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inácio Porto, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Rodrigo Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute of the match Nuno Brito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Barbosa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 27th minute, Augusto Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Augusto Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Luís Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espartosa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Leite in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sérgio Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sérgio Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Leite in the 42nd minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augusto Fonseca was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Espartosa FC booed when SC Navais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Navais's Sérgio Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save SC Navais from getting a goal against them. If Luís Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Porto struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Sérgio Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Espartosa FC. In the 68th match minute, SC Navais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. Cláudio Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ricardo Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Fonseca in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Cláudio Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Navais's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Castro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Augusto Fonseca went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Joel Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Espartosa FC booed when SC Navais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Espartosa FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Navais.
