Mário Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mário Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Tinoca booed when SC Goja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Luz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but João Amaral made a huge save. When Armando Gomes fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Goja's protests and gave Armando Gomes a yellow card for diving instead. If Jacinto Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Cláudio Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Goja's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Assis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Assis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Pinho in the 44th minute of play forced Tinoca's goalkeeper Daniel Assis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Assis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
Inácio Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 59th minute Américo Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on SC Goja's corner Manuel Pinto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Assis quite easily take care of the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Américo Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Tinoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Azevedo couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Américo Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. João Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Goja players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tinoca.
