The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Albertino Lamego kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Salvador Taveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gerardo Avellaneda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Albertino Lamego had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lá máfia's Gaspar Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerardo Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Antas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerardo Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juliano Fidalgo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. C.F.Real Porto's Gerardo Avellaneda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvador Taveira in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Salvador Taveira made the kick off in the second half. Gerardo Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juliano Fidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juliano Fidalgo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Avellaneda having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lá máfia's Timóteo Balsemão got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Gaspar Amorim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Gerardo Avellaneda made a huge save. Gentil Candeias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gerardo Avellaneda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerardo Avellaneda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Taveira in the 75th minute of the match. Olavo Vilas Boas thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Severiano Paião, a very annoying self made goal in the 79th minute which led to 1-3. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Lá máfia's goalkeeper Severiano Paião, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermínio Antas got free with Gerardo Avellaneda in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute Salvador Taveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerardo Avellaneda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hermínio Antas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Avellaneda having to interfere. Severiano Paião stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lourenço Severo's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Gerardo Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juliano Fidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Lá máfia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
