Gusmão Coimbra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Figueiras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gonçalo Bettencourt came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the SC Ldf fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonçalo Bettencourt couldn't finish the play. The supporters of SC Ldf booed when F.C. Cristelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, F.C. Cristelo's Nunez Tano got a free kick in the 7th minute. 15 minutes into the match, SC Ldf's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Azenha came free, but José Águas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Águas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Demian Thorn in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Celso Junqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, Celso Junqueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Ldf's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Cristelo the free kick. A collision led to SC Ldf getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Celso Junqueira hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Tito Negro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Águas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Ldf's José Águas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save SC Ldf from getting a goal against them. Gonçalo Bettencourt might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gusmão Coimbra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonçalo Bettencourt ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Bernardes in the 28th minute of play forced F.C. Cristelo's goalkeeper Gusmão Coimbra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the F.C. Cristelo defense, Gonçalo Bettencourt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gusmão Coimbra. The F.C. Cristelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gusmão Coimbra should have stopped the shot. Gonçalo Bettencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gusmão Coimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Sílvio Azenha took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for José Águas to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, SC Ldf's Vivaldo Neto got a free kick in the 38th minute. Sílvio Azenha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Águas came out and tried to block the shot, but Sílvio Azenha slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. SC Ldf's Caetano Palhares got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sílvio Azenha was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Ldf's Miguel Figueiras slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gusmão Coimbra. That made the score 2-2 after 52 minutes of play. 56 minutes into the game, Sílvio Azenha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. José Águas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Mathias Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Águas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute, Demian Thorn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. Cristelo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gonçalo Bettencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Ldf's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Bettencourt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gusmão Coimbra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, F.C. Cristelo's Mathias Luz got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 68 played minutes F.C. Cristelo got a freekick which was hit by Tito Negro. With his leg Gusmão Coimbra managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when SC Ldf's Gonçalo Bettencourt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. José Águas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Demian Thorn in the 75th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Caetano Palhares during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Miguel Figueiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gusmão Coimbra stood somewhat misplaced when Albertino Bernardes came free in front of goal and shot 4-3 to the left of him in the 85 minute. Leandro Falcão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gusmão Coimbra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Águas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demian Thorn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Ldf's José Águas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Azenha in the 95th minute of play.
