In the 3rd minute, Bernad Teijeira made a precise shot to the right of Sabino Marques. IOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, João Pinhal notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of IOL's Sabino Marques. Sabino Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Celso Sobral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ixaka Barcaiztegui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CD Pinhalnovense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Carvalho in the 20th minute. The corner ended in Daniel Carvalho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but IOL's Sabino Marques did a great save. If Alexandrino Tomé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Celso Sobral sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Ixaka Barcaiztegui threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Celso Sobral this time. In the 38th minute of the match Hélio Ventura shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ixaka Barcaiztegui showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to CD Pinhalnovense getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Telmo Baía hit a great ball. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Pinhalnovense's goalkeeper Ixaka Barcaiztegui, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to CD Pinhalnovense getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Rúben Caldeira hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rúben Caldeira during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Rúben Caldeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 56th minute, IOL's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after João Pinhal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 57 minutes into the match, CD Pinhalnovense's Rúben Caldeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sabino Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. CD Pinhalnovense's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Carvalho in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, IOL's Andi Möhle got a free kick in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the game, one of IOL:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 64th minute of the game, CD Pinhalnovense got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Domingos Bentes kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in IOL's zone, Daniel Carvalho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sabino Marques came out of the goal and Daniel Carvalho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, CD Pinhalnovense's Sabino Marques threw himself towards the right post 71 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernad Teijeira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. CD Pinhalnovense's Igor Pimentel was substituted for João Pinhal. CD Pinhalnovense made a substitution. Dacian Iftodi replaced Rúben Caldeira. Dacian Iftodi came free with the goalkeeper in the 82nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sabino Marques could save by the left post. After 84 played minutes CD Pinhalnovense got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Rico. 88 minutes into the match, IOL's goalkeeper Sabino Marques had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dacian Iftodi. In the 90th match minute, CD Pinhalnovense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacian Iftodi to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the game, Domingos Bentes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. IOL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Pinhalnovense the free kick. 94 minutes into the match, IOL's goal looked a bit too open when Dacian Iftodi came free, but Sabino Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Romão Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. IOL's supporters rose to their feet, but Romão Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ixaka Barcaiztegui breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CD Pinhalnovense's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
