After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Palmiro Bettencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Micaelense's supporters rose to their feet, but Palmiro Bettencourt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa got a free kick in the 17th minute. Palmiro Bettencourt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mao Zhen Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Atlético Micaelense's Vítor Águas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Adérito Abreu in the 23 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabrício Lustosa got free with Gervásio Sousa in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Academia Monte Gordo's Fabrício Lustosa in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 36th minute, Fabrício Lustosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gervásio Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Palmiro Bettencourt in the 44th minute of play forced Academia Monte Gordo's goalkeeper Mao Zhen Hong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Klaus Van Mellart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Academia Monte Gordo's Mao Zhen Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Academia Monte Gordo from getting a goal against them. Atlético Micaelense were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Academia Monte Gordo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rúben Camargo took the corner. Mao Zhen Hong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Palmiro Bettencourt in the 56th minute. Mao Zhen Hong made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Palmiro Bettencourt sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Academia Monte Gordo's Adolfo Silva got a free kick in the 68th minute. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Pascual Mouricio replaced Adérito Abreu. After having played for 72 minutes, Jago Back managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Academia Monte Gordo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jago Back was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gervásio Sousa came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia Monte Gordo's Christian Westerstrand. But to his dismay, Christian Westerstrand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. 81 minutes into the game, Palmiro Bettencourt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-4. Mao Zhen Hong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 88 minutes into the match, Christian Westerstrand notched a goal, 6-4, to the right of Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa. Gervásio Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mao Zhen Hong was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Klaus Van Mellart capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Klaus Van Mellart really showed his touch with that goal: 6-5.
