Kabiru Afunugo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kabiru Afunugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buckfast Abbey's Elewechi Darangi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kabiru Afunugo in the 7th minute of play. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Buckfast Abbey's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yahamu Kawu was slow to take the kick. During this time Nailsworth City's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Nailsworth City's Yahamu Kawu to fire away a dangerous shot which Elewechi Darangi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Abayomi Otubusen fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nailsworth City's protests and gave Abayomi Otubusen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Iloabuchi Adeyemi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 played minutes Nailsworth City got a freekick which was hit by Abdu Uchefuna. If Kabiru Afunugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Buckfast Abbey's Elewechi Darangi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abayomi Otubusen in the 35th minute of play. Nko Olanubi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Elewechi Darangi made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kabiru Afunugo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Kabiru Afunugo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nailsworth City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After 56 played minutes Nailsworth City got a freekick which was hit by Abdu Uchefuna. In the 62nd minute, Kabiru Afunugo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Buckfast Abbey's goal looked a bit too open when Kabiru Afunugo came free, but Elewechi Darangi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Nailsworth City booed when Buckfast Abbey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kunle Mbong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yakwen Onuabunchi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bello Mbolu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bello Mbolu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Yakwen Onuabunchi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Buckfast Abbey's zone, Nko Olanubi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elewechi Darangi came out of the goal and Nko Olanubi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nko Olanubi in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elewechi Darangi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Buckfast Abbey booed when Nailsworth City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kabiru Afunugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bello Mbolu scored 2-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yakwen Onuabunchi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nailsworth City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
