Dominic Edwards was slow to take the kick. During this time Colo-Colo's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Jermaine Downs heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Zak Davison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Reid Clanny, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Jonny Dougan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Jonny Dougan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zak Davison was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, Chris Taylor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Colo-Colo's Dean Bannister got control of the ball when Alfie Clarke tried to sneak it across the goal line. But to his dismay, Alfie Clarke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Brendon McLiam Wilson hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Kasey Reading blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dean Bannister having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Leyland left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Colo-Colo.
