Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Eddy Carlick made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute, Eddy Carlick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stew Jenkinson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jools Clarkson kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 11thth minute of the game Malcolm Neville who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bedford's Jacob Clapham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Scott Lock got free with Jacob Clapham in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 15 minutes, Maurice Beech mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bedford and the Whitton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Bedford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurice Beech to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Whitton AFC's Malcolm Neville got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Eddy Carlick got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Whitton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brian Close came free, but Stew Jenkinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eddy Carlick 's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stew Jenkinson was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. A collision led to Whitton AFC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Baron Frazer hit a great ball. In the 30th minute Eddy Carlick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stew Jenkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacob Clapham made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Scott Lock sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Eddy Carlick put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Stew Jenkinson. When Brian Close came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Bedford fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brian Close couldn't finish the play. Eddy Carlick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Malcolm Neville to make the kick off. Jacob Clapham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Neville, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Scott Lock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whitton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Scott Lock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacob Clapham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stew Jenkinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Carlick in the 67th minute of the match. When Sly Sissons fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bedford's protests and gave Sly Sissons a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bedford getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Sly Sissons hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Whitton AFC's Bryan Housham in action when he in the 71st minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Stew Jenkinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eddy Carlick , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 played minutes Whitton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Cody Westlake. In the 79th minute Eddy Carlick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stew Jenkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eddy Carlick took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stew Jenkinson. Stew Jenkinson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Malcolm Neville during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Whitton AFC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Malcolm Neville hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brian Close got free with Stew Jenkinson in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brian Close recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute, one of Whitton AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Whitton AFC. 92 minutes into the game, Sly Sissons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Stew Jenkinson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 95th minute, Eddy Carlick reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Stew Jenkinson. The goal made the score 0-5. Bedford played a much better game than Whitton AFC and deserved their victory. The Whitton AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
