Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Colin Grantham kicked off to start the match. Chris Kennedy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stew Wishart might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Spike McIlroy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stew Wishart ran back to his position shaking his head. Turnpike Lane FC's Stew Wishart got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Colin Grantham kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Spike McIlroy didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stuart Birchall went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Chris Kennedy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Dobbs having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Turnpike Lane FC's goalkeeper Alexander Dobbs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chris Kennedy . In the 38th minute Stuart Birchall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spike McIlroy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Turnpike Lane FC booed when Basildon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gareth Paterson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Turnpike Lane FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stuart Birchall to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Stuart Birchall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alexander Dobbs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colin Grantham , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stew Wishart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stuart Birchall in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Spike McIlroy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Stew Wishart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Basildon AFC's Don Dwyer got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute Stuart Birchall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Spike McIlroy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stew Wishart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Stuart Birchall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turnpike Lane FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stuart Birchall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Spike McIlroy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris Kennedy scored 1-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexander Dobbs , who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 96th match minute, Turnpike Lane FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Leach to maneuver through the defense. Turnpike Lane FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
