Watchet's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Liam Dickens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Beasley , even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Hallam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Bowen in the 47th minute of the match. The Watchet players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ambleside were winning 0-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfred Bowen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brian Hallam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Bowen in the 52nd minute of the match. Willie Shephard 's late challenge caught a Watchet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Willie Shephard helped the player get up and apologised. Brian Hallam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shawn Connell went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Brian Hallam came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Watchet's Alfred Bowen. But to his dismay, Alfred Bowen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The supporters of Watchet booed when Ambleside was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Beasley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfred Bowen in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brian Hallam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In a very dangerous position, a player in Watchet fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Liam Dickens, was totally fooled by Ambleside's Marlon Brewer , who 68 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Watchet's Shawn Connell got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Des Colt fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ambleside's protests and gave Des Colt a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th minute, Des Colt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Watchet's Liam Dickens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Watchet from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, Des Colt sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Liam Dickens threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Des Colt this time. In the 84th minute, Ambleside's Austen Eubank dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. After a defensive mix-up in Ambleside's zone, Alfred Bowen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Hallam came out of the goal and Alfred Bowen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Alfred Bowen put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Brian Hallam . When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Watchet players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
