After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Ryley Gollogley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coolbanagher's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryley Gollogley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leap FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coolbanagher the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Leap FC's zone, Gerald Kirby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brefni Doyle came out of the goal and Gerald Kirby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 42 played minutes Leap FC got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Morrison. Leap FC's Brefni Doyle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Leap FC from getting a goal against them. The Coolbanagher players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Leap FC were winning 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dermod Ghee made a kick off. When Gerald Kirby came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Coolbanagher fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerald Kirby couldn't finish the play. Ciarán Perth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iarla McDonald having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciarán Perth kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iarla McDonald. That made the score 0-3 in the 57 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Leap FC's Caoilte Hamilton got a free kick in the 61st minute. When Coolbanagher's Gerald Kirby in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leap FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ciarán Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Iarla McDonald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerald Kirby in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brefni Doyle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerald Kirby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Brefni Doyle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aron Duggan charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aron Duggan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Leap FC a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Caoilte Hamilton, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Coolbanagher's Iarla McDonald. 0-4. After 82 minutes, Irving Brennan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leap FC and the Coolbanagher players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coolbanagher booed when Leap FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irving Brennan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Coolbanagher's goal looked a bit too open when Dermod Ghee came free, but Iarla McDonald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Patrick Morrison fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leap FC's protests and gave Patrick Morrison a yellow card for diving instead. Patrick Morrison kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Leap FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
