A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Galway Footballers's goal looked a bit too open when Samueil Murphy came free, but Donal Hamilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Galway Footballers's Colmcille Grant got a free kick in the 18th minute. Drumfergus were furious when Patraic McNamee was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samueil Murphy was the one to do the kick off. Aodh Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donal Hamilton having to interfere. Riley Savic received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Breck Caffrey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Conleth Jameson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drumfergus and the Galway Footballers players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Drumfergus's Bressail Frankson got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Brannagh McWillie sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Drumfergus's Breck Caffrey didn't even have to move. Galway Footballers's Donal Hamilton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Galway Footballers from getting a goal against them. Rownun McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Samueil Murphy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donal Hamilton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samueil Murphy got free with Donal Hamilton in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Samueil Murphy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 85 minutes into the game, Aodh Dempsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drumfergus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galway Footballers the free kick. A collision led to Drumfergus getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Aodh Dempsey hit a great ball. Donal Hamilton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samueil Murphy went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Galway Footballers's Donal Hamilton got control of the ball when Samueil Murphy tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 played minutes Drumfergus got a freekick which was hit by Theodore Holt. Drumfergus's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
