Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kennedy Branson got the match started through his kick off. Bradon McTommy's late challenge caught a Kilcurry's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bradon McTommy helped the player get up and apologised. Bradon McTommy kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Kennedy Branson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 8 minutes, Tevin Grant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kilcurry and the Portarlington Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Portarlington Juniors booed when Kilcurry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tevin Grant didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Boudibiua Bayes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Brady Hughes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Portarlington Juniors's Brady Hughes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kennedy Branson in the 17th minute of play. Portarlington Juniors's Aron Jameson suffered a concussion in the 19th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 20 played minutes Kilcurry got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Barrett. Portarlington Juniors's Nolyn Palmer got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Portarlington Juniors's zone, Kennedy Branson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brady Hughes came out of the goal and Kennedy Branson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kilcurry's Boudibiua Bayes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Kilcurry's Don Willson got control of the ball when Nolyn Palmer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Kilcurry's zone, Bradon McTommy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Don Willson came out of the goal and Bradon McTommy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Nolyn Palmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portarlington Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Nolyn Palmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Don Willson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th match minute, Kilcurry was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Barrett to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Nolyn Palmer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kilcurry's Don Willson. Don Willson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nolyn Palmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Don Willson having to interfere. Boudibiua Bayes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Brady Hughes made a huge save. Nolyn Palmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 71 played minutes Kilcurry got a freekick which was hit by Kennedy Branson. With a little luck, Portarlington Juniors's Brady Hughes got control of the ball when Boudibiua Bayes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd play minute Boudibiua Bayes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Brady Hughes. 1-2. Brady Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kennedy Branson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brady Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kennedy Branson in the 93rd minute of play.
