The wind increased when Banan McCollion made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Garrykonnedy getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Beiti Brennan hit a great ball. Batt McGlynn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Becc Mullan in the 56th minute of the match. Batt McGlynn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Gallagher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute, Becc Mullan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Garrykonnedy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The supporters of Tops booed when Garrykonnedy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Glenn Gallagher didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Banan McCollion came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Tops fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Banan McCollion couldn't finish the play. Tops's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
