Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Beothach McJohn kicked off to start the match. When Boyce Dalton got free in front of the goal in the 5th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Braonain Robinson was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Cappanagh Utd's zone, Boyce Dalton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Braonain Robinson came out of the goal and Boyce Dalton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Benedict Gough fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newtownbarry FC's protests and gave Benedict Gough a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cappanagh Utd booed when Newtownbarry FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedict Gough didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cappanagh Utd's Beothach McJohn got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Newtownbarry FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Boyce Dalton hit a great ball. If Boyce Dalton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bairne Hughes came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Newtownbarry FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bairne Hughes couldn't finish the play. Bairne Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braonain Robinson having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cappanagh Utd defense, Boyce Dalton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Braonain Robinson. The Cappanagh Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Braonain Robinson should have stopped the shot. After 33rd play minutes Cacey Deery shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Tierney McGlenn and just under the crossbar into goal. Braonain Robinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boyce Dalton in the 36th minute of the match. Braonain Robinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bairne Hughes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bairne Hughes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Boyce Dalton made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes in the game, Boyce Dalton fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Braonain Robinson having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Newtownbarry FC's Boyce Dalton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Braonain Robinson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 59 played minutes, Newtownbarry FC's Raymond Tierney shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Braonain Robinson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newtownbarry FC reached it. Byrne Molloy kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Dalton in the 66th minute of play forced Cappanagh Utd's goalkeeper Braonain Robinson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beothach McJohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bairne Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Braonain Robinson having to interfere. Newtownbarry FC's Tierney McGlenn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beckett Coyle in the 82nd minute of play. If Beothach McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Braonain Robinson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Braonain Robinson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyce Dalton in the 92nd minute of play. If Beothach McJohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
