Brayden McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Illanbaun Utd defense, Saoirse Ramsey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duff McPhil. The Illanbaun Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duff McPhil should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Illanbaun Utd's Branson Tierney got a free kick in the 13th minute. When Saoirse Ramsey came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Laurencetown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saoirse Ramsey couldn't finish the play. Brayden McSteven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Coran McJohnny tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Laurencetown defense, Brayden McSteven kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Coran McJohnny. The Laurencetown fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Coran McJohnny should have stopped the shot. Terrence McBrand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 24 minutes, Tomás McCready managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laurencetown's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás McCready was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Berchan McPhil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laurencetown's supporters rose to their feet, but Berchan McPhil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duff McPhil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Laurencetown's goal looked a bit too open when Paudraig McLaughlin came free, but Coran McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Illanbaun Utd's Duff McPhil got control of the ball when Saoirse Ramsey tried to sneak it across the goal line. Coran McJohnny showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Branson Scully in the 33rd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, Laurencetown's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence McBrand came free, but Coran McJohnny reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 minutes, Branson Scully mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Illanbaun Utd and the Laurencetown players grew even worse after the yellow card. Branson Scully kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Laurencetown's Donavin McLaughlin got a free kick in the 38th minute. Coran McJohnny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brayden McSteven in the 39th minute of play. Coran McJohnny came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Illanbaun Utd's Terrence McBrand. But to his dismay, Terrence McBrand quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Laurencetown's Tomás McCready got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paudraig McLaughlin made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Tomás McCready got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Terrence McBrand charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Terrence McBrand the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 52 played minutes Illanbaun Utd got a freekick which was hit by Terrence McBrand. 53 minutes into the match, Illanbaun Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Beamard Mulvihill came free, but Duff McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Saoirse McLian notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Illanbaun Utd's Duff McPhil. Duff McPhil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th minute, Donavin McLaughlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brayden McSteven during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Laurencetown booed when Illanbaun Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brayden McSteven didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laurencetown's Cormac McAlphie got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Donavin McLaughlin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rdth minute of the game Tomás McCready who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Illanbaun Utd's Duff McPhil was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Laurencetown's Coran McJohnny got control of the ball when Terrence McBrand tried to sneak it across the goal line. Duff McPhil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saoirse McLian in the 76th minute of the match. Branson Scully kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Laurencetown's Saoirse McLian got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laurencetown's supporters rose to their feet, but Cormac McAlphie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Coran McJohnny didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Illanbaun Utd. After a rather tough play, Illanbaun Utd's Terrence McBrand got a free kick in the 84th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás McCready in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duff McPhil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Duff McPhil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berchan McPhil in the 87th minute of the match. Brayden McSteven got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Brayden McSteven hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Laurencetown's Cormac McAlphie got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás McCready in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Duff McPhil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Laurencetown players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
