The supporters of Strand booed when Illanbaun Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Branson Scully didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the game, Strand's Barram Robinson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duff McPhil made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Brayden McSteven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Randal Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Brayden McSteven got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brayden McSteven stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oliver McBrand could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Duff McPhil made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Paudraig McLaughlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Illanbaun Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Paudraig McLaughlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rorry Mulvihill breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brayden McSteven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rorry Mulvihill having to interfere. Strand's Randal Benson got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Randal Benson off the ground. In the 63rd minute, Randal Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brayden McSteven in the 64th minute of play forced Strand's goalkeeper Rorry Mulvihill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Strand getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Donlan Jameson hit a great ball. After having played for 66 minutes, Brayden McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illanbaun Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brayden McSteven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oliver McBrand had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 80 minutes, Louie McLaughlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Strand and the Illanbaun Utd players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of Strand:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Illanbaun Utd:s goal. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Illanbaun Utd. Boudibiua McFrank stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rorry Mulvihill. 2-1. After having played for 85 minutes, Brayden McSteven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Illanbaun Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brayden McSteven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The goalkeeper, Duff McPhil, was totally fooled by Strand's Louie McLaughlin, who 90 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Paudraig McLaughlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rorry Mulvihill having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brayden McSteven in the 98th minute of play forced Strand's goalkeeper Rorry Mulvihill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barram Robinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 101st minute. Duff McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
