Lawrence McTom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiarnan McLiam having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Becan McSteven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bercan Hamilton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Boru Dillon fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavey's protests and gave Boru Dillon a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rio Marina F.C booed when Lavey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boru Dillon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Lavey defense, Ryley Gallagher kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tiarnan McLiam. The Lavey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tiarnan McLiam should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Rio Marina F.C's Bercan Hamilton got control of the ball when Becan McSteven tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pearse Delaney charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pearse Delaney the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 45th match minute, Rio Marina F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearse Delaney to maneuver through the defense. Rowley Harkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Rio Marina F.C booed when Lavey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artt McStephen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lavey's Tiarnan McLiam proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Lavey from getting a goal against them. 58 minutes into the match, Pearse Delaney notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Lavey's Tiarnan McLiam. Tiarnan McLiam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 65 minutes, Todd McVictor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lavey and the Rio Marina F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Lavey:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rio Marina F.C:s goal. Lavey:s Tiarnan McLiam showed great skill when he stopped Berchan McSteve:s penalty. Berchan McSteve took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiarnan McLiam. Tiarnan McLiam dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. In the 70th minute, Berchan McSteve made a precise shot to the right of Tiarnan McLiam. Lavey's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Tiarnan McLiam made an important save on a dangerous shot by Berchan McSteve in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Rorry McDecland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lavey's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio Marina F.C the free kick. Rorry McDecland kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Lavey's Rowley Harkin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bercan Hamilton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. In the 92nd minute, Becan McSteven left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lavey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-4. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Rio Marina F.C players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
