Francis Wiley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loyd Mead, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Kieran Butler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Sean Milton made a huge save. Kieran Butler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Sean Milton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Emsworth's Frankie Allott got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Frankie Allott put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Francis Wiley. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frankie Allott in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francis Wiley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute Loyd Mead shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francis Wiley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lewis Warner to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Louis Illingworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Emsworth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sean Milton should have stopped the shot. Loyd Mead received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Francis Wiley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francis Wiley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Allott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emsworth's Frankie Allott got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ilkley's Paddy Bowler got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Emsworth's Sean Milton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lewis Warner in the 96th minute of play.
