Aveley's Rob Brewer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Aveley from getting a goal against them. When Pierre Vickers fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Haslemere FC's protests and gave Pierre Vickers a yellow card for diving instead.
