Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Stewart Rooney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glen Grainger in the 6th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Glen Grainger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Woking FC's Stewart Rooney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Woking FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Zane Burgess hit a great ball. Glen Grainger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Stewart Rooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glen Grainger might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stewart Rooney. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glen Grainger ran back to his position shaking his head. Stewart Rooney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierce Hatcher in the 16th minute of play. Brett Middlewood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidney Long having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Thornbury United's zone, Brett Middlewood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidney Long came out of the goal and Brett Middlewood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. John Bibby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thornbury United's Glen Grainger got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Pierce Hatcher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thornbury United's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierce Hatcher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stewart Rooney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stewart Rooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Al Woodford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Thornbury United's Pierce Hatcher in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Woking FC's goalie prevented a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Glen Grainger was the one to do the kick off. If Dean Longstaffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Bibby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sidney Long tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, John Bibby managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Woking FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Bibby was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pierce Hatcher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glen Grainger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Thornbury United's Al Woodford got a free kick in the 68th minute. A collision led to Thornbury United getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Al Woodford hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Thornbury United's goal looked a bit too open when Brett Middlewood came free, but Sidney Long reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When John Bibby came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Woking FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Bibby couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute Brett Middlewood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Long saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stewart Rooney made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Pierce Hatcher sent off a good shot on target. Pierce Hatcher was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Thornbury United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Stewart Rooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glen Grainger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 90 played minutes Thornbury United's Pierce Hatcher stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Stewart Rooney stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Woking FC of the goal.
