After 16 minutes, Carlton Towler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nailsworth FC and the Kidderminster players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute, one of Nailsworth FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nailsworth FC. Frankie Starr struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Danny Blewett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kidderminster. Reggie Leeson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Edmonton in the 24th minute of play. Brian Edmonton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute.
