Phillip Barber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Buster Laverick, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Assassins FC's Phillip Barber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Fertus in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Knutsford City getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Buster Laverick hit a great ball. Buster Laverick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Barber having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Carmelo Fertus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Phillip Barber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 22 minutes, Carmelo Fertus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knutsford City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Fertus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Buster Laverick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marlon Golding fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Barber having to interfere. Knutsford City's Buster Laverick suffered a sore thigh after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Huey Bramhall fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Assassins FC's protests and gave Huey Bramhall a yellow card for diving instead. Knutsford City's Will Higgins was substituted for Buster Laverick. In the 41st match minute, Assassins FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Huey Bramhall to maneuver through the defense. Assassins FC's Phillip Barber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glen Black in the 42nd minute of play. Carmelo Fertus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Barber having to interfere. Will Higgins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Assassins FC's goalkeeper Phillip Barber, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matthew Dawson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Andrew Clayton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 59 minutes, Matthew Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Assassins FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthew Dawson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Carmelo Fertus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Phillip Barber was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. After 66 played minutes Assassins FC got a freekick which was hit by Curtis Shipton. Andrew Clayton was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Assassins FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Matthew Dawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phillip Barber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Higgins in the 81st minute of play. If Andrew Clayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matthew Dawson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jeffrey Woodman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carmelo Fertus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Carmelo Fertus came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Knutsford City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Fertus couldn't finish the play. Knutsford City's Marlon Golding got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phillip Barber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carmelo Fertus's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. When the referee ended the match the Knutsford City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
