With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver La Forte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver La Forte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clive Willis, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Les Henwood charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Les Henwood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Harrogate booed when Pea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Les Henwood didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Harrogate's Ash Hook broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Eric Brown received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Oliver La Forte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Gaz Little made a precise shot to the right of Justin Hughes. Harrogate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 24 minutes, Calvin Pelc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pea FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calvin Pelc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francis Pryor during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, one of Harrogate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Harrogate. During the 32nd minute of the match Les Henwood completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Les Henwood a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pea FC's goalkeeper Oliver La Forte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eric Brown sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 38 minutes into the game, Harrogate's Clive Willis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliver La Forte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Eric Brown received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Oliver La Forte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oliver La Forte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clive Willis in the 43rd minute of play. Pea FC's Leo Cooke pulled a muscle in his leg after 45 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Garry Thompson fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Harrogate's protests and gave Garry Thompson a yellow card for diving instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
Oliver La Forte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clive Willis in the 51st minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match Ash Hook shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oliver La Forte showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Harrogate's Ash Hook got a free kick in the 57th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Stevie Endean cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Justin Hughes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 68 minutes into the match, Pea FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Brown came free, but Oliver La Forte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute, Clive Willis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oliver La Forte made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Eric Brown sent off a good shot on target. Clive Willis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oliver La Forte having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Clive Willis took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Oliver La Forte to make any attempt to save it. Pea FC's Oliver La Forte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Willis in the 88th minute of play. Eric Brown could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Oliver La Forte made a huge save.
