The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bradley Thompson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Louis Ingram got free with Seb Daly in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Piwkol FC booed when Comberton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lance Burrows didn't get a good kick on the ball. Louis Ingram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Seb Daly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Comberton City's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Ingram came free, but Seb Daly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piwkol FC's goalkeeper Buster Beard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Loyd Shields sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Louis Ingram sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Comberton City's Seb Daly got control of the ball when Conal Lydiate tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lance Burrows to make the kick off. Comberton City's Seb Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conal Lydiate in the 56th minute of play. Conal Lydiate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute Conal Lydiate shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Seb Daly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Louis Ingram fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Seb Daly having to interfere. If Lance Burrows had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olly Braithwaite during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Conal Lydiate struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Seb Daly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piwkol FC. Lance Burrows's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Buster Beard read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Comberton City's zone, Vincent Langley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Seb Daly came out of the goal and Vincent Langley tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Piwkol FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
