If Scott Crabtree had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ermegildo Blasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ermegildo Blasco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alf Fletcher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Ashbourne FC's Alf Fletcher proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Ashbourne FC from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Ashbourne FC's Alf Fletcher got control of the ball when Scott Crabtree tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dale Bennett in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Noel Hitchen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Harvey Bagshaw scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Hitchen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A hard shot 18 in the game by Scott Crabtree from a close distance when the talented Alf Fletcher managed to make a qualified save. Ashbourne FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Redruth Black getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Denis Varley hit a great ball. Ermegildo Blasco's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alf Fletcher firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alf Fletcher was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Caleb Dlyan. Scott Crabtree recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ashbourne FC's goalkeeper Alf Fletcher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Scott Crabtree's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alf Fletcher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Alf Fletcher didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ermegildo Blasco went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Ermegildo Blasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alf Fletcher was a little too slow when Scott Crabtree got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 2-1. If Scott Crabtree had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alf Fletcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Crabtree in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

52 minutes into the match, Redruth Black's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Bagshaw came free, but Noel Hitchen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noel Hitchen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harvey Bagshaw in the 54th minute. 54 minutes into the game, Derek Thorne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Redruth Black's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashbourne FC the free kick. The supporters of Ashbourne FC booed when Redruth Black was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Derek Thorne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Redruth Black's Noel Hitchen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Bennett in the 59th minute of play. With a little luck, Redruth Black's Noel Hitchen got control of the ball when Harvey Bagshaw tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Hitchen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Bennett in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Redruth Black's goalkeeper Noel Hitchen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dane Downes. Redruth Black were furious when Caleb Dlyan was red carded, 68 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 68 minutes into the game, one of Redruth Black:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Derek Thorne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alf Fletcher having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Ermegildo Blasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alf Fletcher. Ashbourne FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ermegildo Blasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Noel Hitchen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harvey Bagshaw in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Ashbourne FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jake Kyle came free, but Alf Fletcher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Redruth Black's Jake Kyle got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Redruth Black getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jake Kyle hit a great ball. In the 89th minute Dale Bennett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Hitchen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jake Kyle kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Noel Hitchen made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Harvey Bagshaw sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Redruth Black getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Derek Thorne hit a great ball. In the 96th minute of the match Les Boyce sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Noel Hitchen skillfully saved the ball. Dane Downes took the ball and in the 99 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Noel Hitchen. Noel Hitchen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
