The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thomas Basterfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vic Allott, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jon Blewett hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Frank Dines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute, Jonny Chambers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS's zone, Jonny Chambers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Basterfield came out of the goal and Jonny Chambers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Derek Woodier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wayne Best, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Wayne Best kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Derek Woodier. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Wayne Best hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the game, Manchester United's Jonny Chambers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Basterfield made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Thomas Basterfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Allott in the 26th minute of play. If Vic Allott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS's Wayne Best slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Derek Woodier. That made the score 2-1 after 31 minutes of play. If Vic Allott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derek Woodier was a little too slow when Wayne Best got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 3-1. Frank Dines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Thomas Basterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wayne Best got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS's Wayne Best got a free kick in the 44th minute. Vic Allott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Thomas Basterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jo Hinshelwood made a kick off. Vic Allott struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Thomas Basterfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS's zone, Vic Allott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Basterfield came out of the goal and Vic Allott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. But to his dismay, Vic Allott quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. When Jonny Chambers fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United's protests and gave Jonny Chambers a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Chambers to maneuver through the defense. Derek Woodier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orson Crayon in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orson Crayon in the 79th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Derek Woodier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Blewett came free, but Derek Woodier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orson Crayon hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Rodney Bridgeman kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Jon Blewett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Derek Woodier was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Vic Allott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Thomas Basterfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Allott in the 96th minute of play forced CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS's goalkeeper Thomas Basterfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 97 played minutes CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS got a freekick which was hit by Orson Crayon. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Manchester United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
