Don Silk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Blackwater having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Amberley United's zone, Isaac Rushforth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will Shilton came out of the goal and Isaac Rushforth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dom Shephard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dom Shephard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dom Shephard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Will Shilton when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 25 played minutes, Amberley United's Dom Cobb shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Roger Blackwater came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Amberley United reached it. Roger Blackwater made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Titmuss in the 26th minute of play. Will Shilton made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Dom Shephard sent off a good shot on target. In the 29th match minute, Amberley United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dom Cobb to maneuver through the defense. When Dom Shephard came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Tenbury Wells fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dom Shephard couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dominic Lee-Barrett during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Tenbury Wells got a freekick which was hit by Dominic Lee-Barrett. Don Silk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Amberley United's goal looked a bit too open when Dom Shephard came free, but Will Shilton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dom Shephard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Will Shilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Will Shilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Rushforth, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Stan Titmuss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amberley United's supporters rose to their feet, but Stan Titmuss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger Blackwater breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harry Duckworth kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Amberley United's zone, Dom Shephard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will Shilton came out of the goal and Dom Shephard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Isaac Rushforth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Dom Shephard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Will Shilton. Amberley United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dom Shephard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Tenbury Wells were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Amberley United for a fine match.
