In the 16th minute Ivor West shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bob Burbeary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Sol West quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 23 minutes, Colin Merchant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swansea City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Colin Merchant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bob Burbeary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivor West, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 35 played minutes, LIVERPOOL's Sol West shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bob Burbeary came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The LIVERPOOL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tommy Potterton was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivor West got free with Bob Burbeary in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bob Burbeary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sol West in the 55th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the game, Swansea City FC's Colin Merchant nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ty Wicks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Potterton in the 61st minute of play forced LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Ty Wicks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Ty Mallaby in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by LIVERPOOL's Stewart Butterworth. Ty Wicks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Potterton in the 65th minute of the match. Bob Burbeary took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sol West, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Tommy Potterton made a precise shot to the right of Ty Wicks. LIVERPOOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. LIVERPOOL's Stewart Butterworth managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ty Mallaby in the 74 minute of the game. Ty Wicks showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Potterton, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. With a little luck, Swansea City FC's Bob Burbeary got control of the ball when Alan Hylton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paddy Houlahan hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Ty Wicks came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Swansea City FC's Tommy Potterton. But to his dismay, Tommy Potterton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. Ty Mallaby made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Colin Merchant however managed to control. Bob Burbeary was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Ivor West capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivor West really showed his touch with that goal: 3-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Potterton in the 95th minute of play forced LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Ty Wicks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LIVERPOOL's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
