Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kristopher Bayliff started the match with the kick off. Geddington's Marcus Drury played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Child in the 3rd minute of play. Shap AFC were furious when Austen Longthorn was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Jay Stobbs struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Eddy Sawbridge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geddington. The supporters of Shap AFC booed when Geddington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh Bramhall didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Shap AFC's Larry Sollit fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 18 minutes into the match, Geddington's goalkeeper Marcus Drury had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Larry Sollit. Eddy Sawbridge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Bayliff in the 21st minute of play. If Jay Stobbs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fraser Deaconsfield kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Kristopher Bayliff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristopher Bayliff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jay Stobbs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jay Stobbs in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eddy Sawbridge, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eddy Sawbridge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Bayliff, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 66th match minute, Geddington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Austin Hindmarsh to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Drury took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Sollit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jay Stobbs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristopher Bayliff did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Eddy Sawbridge 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th match minute, Geddington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinnie Bird to maneuver through the defense. When Jay Stobbs came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Geddington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jay Stobbs couldn't finish the play. Kristopher Bayliff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antony Simpson hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Larry Sollit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Marcus Drury tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Jay Stobbs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
