When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Kristian Hook sped through Haywards Heath's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zackary Toovey. After a rather tough play, Haywards Heath's Johnathon Furlong got a free kick in the 9th minute. Simon Mawson got in the 10th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Zackary Toovey and thus it was 2-0. Zackary Toovey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Hook in the 13th minute. The supporters of Haywards Heath booed when red army fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Syd Laverack didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darryl Nethercoat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zackary Toovey having to interfere. Zackary Toovey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Nethercoat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jasper Harris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dylon Goodwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stevie Cambridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristian Hook received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Zackary Toovey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristian Hook got free with Zackary Toovey in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Darryl Nethercoat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Atkins in the 43rd minute of play forced Haywards Heath's goalkeeper Zackary Toovey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Denis Gough's late challenge caught a red army fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Gough helped the player get up and apologised. In the 58th minute, Denis Gough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnathon Furlong hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Haywards Heath's zone, Darryl Nethercoat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zackary Toovey came out of the goal and Darryl Nethercoat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When red army fc's Darryl Nethercoat in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Haywards Heath's goalie prevented a goal. If Stevie Cambridge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Darryl Nethercoat notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Haywards Heath's Zackary Toovey. Zackary Toovey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute Darryl Nethercoat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zackary Toovey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zackary Toovey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristian Hook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frankie Atkins charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frankie Atkins the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frankie Atkins hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Dylon Goodwick made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jasper Harris sent off a good shot on target.
