He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Romford reached it. Paddy Doughty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Hogg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Todd Holden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Matt Goldthorpe. Hendon United FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Joe Hogg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hendon United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joe Hogg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sean Dryden hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Warren Kirkpatrick, 70 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Matt Goldthorpe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brad Hibbert in the 74th minute of play. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the match, Romford's goalkeeper Paddy Doughty had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trey Elwick. In the 89th minute, Joe Hogg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Joe Hogg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hendon United FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
