Peter Haskell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tom Kent kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Atherton United's Mattias Auckland couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 5th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hendon United FC. Peter Haskell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Matt Goldthorpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Hogg in the 14th minute of play forced Atherton United's goalkeeper Junior Robson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Steve Summerfield's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matt Goldthorpe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Peter Haskell ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matt Goldthorpe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 26th minute, Joe Hogg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Junior Robson, passed just outside the right post. If Trey Elwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 32 minutes, Trey Elwick managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hendon United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Trey Elwick was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atherton United's Junior Robson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Atherton United from getting a goal against them. Junior Robson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Hogg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joe Hogg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Haskell in the 45th minute of play forced Hendon United FC's goalkeeper Matt Goldthorpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joe Hogg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexander Thompson made a kick off. In the 57th minute Trey Elwick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Junior Robson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Peter Haskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matt Goldthorpe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sammy Bryden during the 63rd minute. In the 76th match minute, Hendon United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Hogg to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Atherton United's zone, Joe Hogg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Junior Robson came out of the goal and Joe Hogg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Junior Robson didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Hendon United FC's Joe Hogg shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Trey Elwick scored 2-3 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Junior Robson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
