Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bob Hughes kicked off to start the match. Noel Doona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyler Whittaker, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Noel Doona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Moxey in the 5th minute of play. Vance Rogers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todd Kearney hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, Bedlington's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Fleming came free, but Silvester Byrom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Noel Doona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Moxey, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Noel Doona came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Bedlington's Chris Moxey. But to his dismay, Chris Moxey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Eric Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bradley Cheesman kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Bob Hughes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bedlington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Hughes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Bob Hughes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Noel Doona was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Manchester City's Gus Higson got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Greg Crossley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gus Higson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvester Byrom read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Richard Fleming managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester City's supporters rose to their feet, but Richard Fleming was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvester Byrom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44thth minute of the game Bob Hughes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manchester City's Noel Doona was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Fleming was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Vance Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vance Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute Eric Mann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Byrom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Greg Crossley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Silvester Byrom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Moxey charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Moxey the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th match minute, Bedlington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Moxey to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute of the match Keith Bamford sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Silvester Byrom skillfully saved the ball. Chris Moxey got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Chris Moxey hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Gus Higson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Silvester Byrom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eric Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Mann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvester Byrom having to interfere. Manchester City's Noel Doona proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester City from getting a goal against them. If Eric Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Mann struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Silvester Byrom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City. Silvester Byrom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gus Higson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tyler Whittaker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Noel Doona made a huge save. If Eric Mann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eric Mann came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Manchester City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Mann couldn't finish the play. Richard Fleming sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Fleming shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Manchester City lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
