Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Phil McGrath made the kick off and thus started the match. Des Bale hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Nathan Rundell came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Horsham AFC's Phil McGrath. But to his dismay, Phil McGrath quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ed Wishart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dominik Mortlock having to interfere. Carl Dobson might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nathan Rundell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carl Dobson ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the match, Carl Dobson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Knutsford United's Nathan Rundell. Nathan Rundell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Horsham AFC's Phil McGrath in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Knutsford United's goalie prevented a goal. Phil McGrath took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nathan Rundell. Nathan Rundell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 41st minute, Giles Hutchinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phil McGrath in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nathan Rundell saved Knutsford United from getting behind.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ed Wishart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Knutsford United getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Dan Atherton hit a great ball. Carl Dobson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Nathan Rundell made a huge save. After 60 played minutes Horsham AFC got a freekick which was hit by Giles Hutchinson. Phil McGrath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Nathan Rundell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ed Wishart struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Dominik Mortlock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Knutsford United. A collision led to Horsham AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Malcolm Slade hit a great ball. Carl Dobson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nathan Rundell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Phil McGrath's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nathan Rundell was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. The supporters of Knutsford United booed when Horsham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giles Hutchinson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ed Wishart in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dominik Mortlock saved Horsham AFC from getting behind. Nathan Rundell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Malcolm Slade went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score.
