Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Austen Stone took the kick off in the first half of the match. Alfred Hunt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Peakman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Austen Stone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierce Meehan having to interfere. Nicky Waples short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Pierce Meehan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Pierce Meehan came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by South Benfleet FC's Austen Stone. But to his dismay, Austen Stone quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. South Benfleet FC's Alfred Hunt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregory Brook in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes in the game, Alistair Kirk fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Pierce Meehan having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, South Benfleet FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gregory Brook came free, but Alfred Hunt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pierce Meehan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Austen Stone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perry Barker scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfred Hunt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Austen Stone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierce Meehan having to interfere. The supporters of South Benfleet FC booed when Mason FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lennie Peakman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicky Waple kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Alfred Hunt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perry Barker in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Alistair Kirk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Austen Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Pierce Meehan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austen Stone in the 51st minute of play. Austen Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, South Benfleet FC's Alfred Hunt got control of the ball when Perry Barker tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, South Benfleet FC's Donald Stamer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 67th minute Gregory Brook shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Hunt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th match minute, South Benfleet FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rowan Timiney to maneuver through the defense. Alfred Hunt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregory Brook, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Austen Stone in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierce Meehan saved Mason FC from getting behind. Pat Ridsdale took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Hunt. Alfred Hunt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
