The referee ignored Heybridge Basin's protests and gave Jerry Thackray a yellow card for diving instead. Eddie Foster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Eddie Foster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Pye-Finch having to interfere. The supporters of Heybridge Basin booed when liverpool22 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Foster didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Heybridge Basin defense, Glenn Clifford kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronny Pye-Finch. The Heybridge Basin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronny Pye-Finch should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Rio Fearns managed to get in a good position for a shot. liverpool22's supporters rose to their feet, but Rio Fearns was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronny Pye-Finch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Rio Fearns left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Ronny Pye-Finch dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. In the 87thth minute of the game Glenn Clifford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Heybridge Basin's Ronny Pye-Finch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grant Paget might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Austen Jordan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Grant Paget ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee ended the match the liverpool22 players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
