Leo Letheren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Ashby having to interfere. In the 6th match minute, Hornsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ashley Darnbrooke to maneuver through the defense. When Danny Crouch came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Dersingham AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Danny Crouch couldn't finish the play. Hornsea's Neil Grantham suffered a sore thigh after 9 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Lloyd Beevers fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dersingham AFC's protests and gave Lloyd Beevers a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Dersingham AFC's Lloyd Beevers got a free kick in the 10th minute. Dersingham AFC's Danny Crouch got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Leo Letheren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steven Ashby was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Steven Ashby was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Danny Crouch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dersingham AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Danny Crouch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steven Ashby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leo Letheren made a kick off. Hornsea's Steven Ashby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Letheren in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Leo Letheren fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Steven Ashby, passed just outside the right post. Danny Crouch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Steven Ashby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steven Ashby made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Danny Crouch sent off a good shot on target. Dylon Maylett kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leo Letheren in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steven Ashby saved Hornsea from getting behind. Danny Crouch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Steven Ashby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A very good chance for a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Hornsea's goalkeeper Steven Ashby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danny Crouch. Leo Letheren took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Steven Ashby. Steven Ashby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dersingham AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
