Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) With a couple of smart ball manuevers Micheal Sawyer in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stewart Hepburn saved Manchester City from getting behind. Stew Osborn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ironville United's Loyd Capes got a free kick in the 9th minute. Manchester City's Stewart Hepburn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Micheal Sawyer in the 14th minute of play. Calvin Wakefield might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Barrow. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Calvin Wakefield ran back to his position shaking his head. Stew Osborn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 22 minutes, Calvin Wakefield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calvin Wakefield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Micheal Sawyer in the 26th minute of play forced Manchester City's goalkeeper Stewart Hepburn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Manchester City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ironville United:s goal. Martyn Fleetwood shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Stewart Hepburn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Micheal Sawyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Micheal Sawyer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Calvin Wakefield made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Ironville United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodney Searle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerome Barrow didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Manchester City's Stew Osborn shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Stewart Hepburn came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Ironville United's Gav Plumber. But to his dismay, Gav Plumber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 71st minute, Calvin Wakefield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gav Plumber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Micheal Sawyer in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stewart Hepburn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th match minute, Manchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marty Chivers to maneuver through the defense. Micheal Sawyer struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Stewart Hepburn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ironville United. 82 minutes into the game, Bruce Batty was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Manchester City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ironville United the free kick. Bruce Batty hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Martyn Fleetwood sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Manchester City's Stewart Hepburn didn't even have to move. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Micheal Sawyer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ironville United's supporters rose to their feet, but Micheal Sawyer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stewart Hepburn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
