After 2 minutes, Liam Holmes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the newcastle united and the Ilfracombe AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to newcastle united getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Philip Bond hit a great ball. Martin Berry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Gascoigne, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. newcastle united's Martin Berry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Tuck in the 16th minute of play. Martin Berry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Gascoigne in the 20th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Tuck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Martin Berry was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Martin Berry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Gascoigne in the 26th minute of the match. Martin Berry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Tuck in the 37th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the game, newcastle united's Kev Bayford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Caleb Lancaster made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Seth Thornton during the 46th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Gascoigne in the 47th minute of play forced newcastle united's goalkeeper Martin Berry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Kev Bayford made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, newcastle united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casey Titmuss to maneuver through the defense. Kevin Gascoigne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Tuck scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Berry, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 68 minutes, Benjamin Tuck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ilfracombe AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamin Tuck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Berry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Beevers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martin Berry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Tuck in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ilfracombe AFC's Matty Crawshaw got a free kick in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Kev Bayford cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Caleb Lancaster was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benjamin Tuck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kev Bayford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute Kevin Gascoigne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Berry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. newcastle united's Kev Bayford got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of newcastle united booed when Ilfracombe AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyler Kellaway didn't get a good kick on the ball.
