The audience was convinced that Donald Mudd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Junior Baldwin was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. After 13 minutes Calverley's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Timothy Kennedy who took care of the corner kick. Jonathan Shaws short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Rio Owen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rio Owen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben McMahon, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. When Conan Flack fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muswell Hill FC's protests and gave Conan Flack a yellow card for diving instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Jonathan Shaw managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calverley's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathan Shaw was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rio Owen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 85th minute, Jonathan Shaw got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rio Owen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben McMahon, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Kieran Penn hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 89 minutes of play, Calverley's Jonathan Shaw made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rio Owen was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Calverley could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Muswell Hill FC throughout the match.
