Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Liam Blakewell started the match with the kick off. If Clive Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Birmingham yyw booed when YNWA United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rich Berryman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kev Tonkin made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Clive Ellerby sent off a good shot on target. In the 17th minute, Luke Bowden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute Keanu Barr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stan Lansdell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. YNWA United's Kev Tonkin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save YNWA United from getting a goal against them. Stan Lansdell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis Hart's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffrey Fielden in the 29th minute of play forced Birmingham yyw's goalkeeper Stan Lansdell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Lewis Hart had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stan Lansdell. Birmingham yyw's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lewis Hart was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Jeffrey Fielden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Stan Lansdell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Lewis Hart managed to get in a good position for a shot. YNWA United's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Hart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stan Lansdell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 38 played minutes Birmingham yyw got a freekick which was hit by Marek Potter. Jeffrey Fielden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind YNWA United's goalkeeper Kev Tonkin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeffrey Fielden to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Birmingham yyw's goal looked a bit too open when Jeffrey Fielden came free, but Stan Lansdell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clive Ellerby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kev Tonkin having to interfere. Stan Lansdell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Fielden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Birmingham yyw's zone, Jeffrey Fielden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stan Lansdell came out of the goal and Jeffrey Fielden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liam Blakewell struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Kev Tonkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Birmingham yyw. 68 minutes into the game, Billie Gilchrist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. YNWA United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Birmingham yyw the free kick. After a rather tough play, YNWA United's Billie Gilchrist got a free kick in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liam Blakewell in the 71st minute of play forced YNWA United's goalkeeper Kev Tonkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute Clive Ellerby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kev Tonkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeffrey Fielden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Stan Lansdell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Clive Ellerby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kev Tonkin. YNWA United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clive Ellerby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Birmingham yyw's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
