Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Stew Bedford made the kick off and thus started the match. Stew Bedford was extremely unlucky when he, in the 6th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Les Wishart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 13 minutes, Allan Powell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. R10 Ashurst's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Powell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ozzy Willetts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sean Thomson in the 16th minute. R10 Ashurst's Les Wishart got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Allan Powell notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cranbrook's Bruce Cain. Bruce Cain was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruce Cain didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Les Wishart went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Les Wishart scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruce Cain, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Stew Bedford's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ozzy Willetts was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. In the 45th match minute, R10 Ashurst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fitz Hall to maneuver through the defense. Ozzy Willetts was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sly Frain. After the first half R10 Ashurst were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Les Wishart made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Allan Powell managed to get in a good position for a shot. R10 Ashurst's supporters rose to their feet, but Allan Powell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruce Cain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Les Wishart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Cain having to interfere. With a little luck, Cranbrook's Bruce Cain got control of the ball when Allan Powell tried to sneak it across the goal line. 59 minutes into the game, Rick Gamble was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. R10 Ashurst's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cranbrook the free kick. In the 59th match minute, R10 Ashurst was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rick Gamble to maneuver through the defense. After 61 minutes of play, Cranbrook's Stew Bedford made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ozzy Willetts was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Stew Bedford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruce Cain stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Les Wishart's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Sean Thomson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ozzy Willetts having to interfere. The supporters of Cranbrook booed when R10 Ashurst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conan Easton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Les Wishart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Cain having to interfere. Bruce Cain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Les Wishart in the 81st minute of the match. Bruce Cain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Les Wishart in the 83rd minute of play. When Dylon Camfield fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cranbrook's protests and gave Dylon Camfield a yellow card for diving instead. Dylon Camfield hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Les Wishart made a precise shot to the right of Bruce Cain. Cranbrook's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Les Wishart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Les Wishart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match was over R10 Ashurst could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cranbrook throughout the match.
