Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lewes's Reuben Speight played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Crispin Weston in the 4th minute of play. A collision led to Lewes getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Kris Camfield hit a great ball. Teddy Sheene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Reuben Speight tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Middlesbrough F.C's goalkeeper Steve Townsley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dom Soussan. In the 17th minute, Crispin Weston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Crispin Weston took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reuben Speight. Reuben Speight dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dean Taggart during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dean Taggart kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Reuben Speight showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Sheene, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Crispin Weston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Middlesbrough F.C's Teddy Sheene fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Reuben Speight showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Sheene, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Crispin Weston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Speight having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Archie Crossley to make the kick off. The supporters of Lewes booed when Middlesbrough F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Crichton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lewes's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dom Soussan in the 58th minute. Lewes's Dom Soussan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Steve Townsley in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mattias Crichton hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Reuben Speight showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Sheene in the 67th minute of the match. Crispin Weston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Reuben Speight tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Lewes's goal looked a bit too open when Teddy Sheene came free, but Reuben Speight reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Crispin Weston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Speight having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Crispin Weston got free with Reuben Speight in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teddy Sheene struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Reuben Speight didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Middlesbrough F.C. Middlesbrough F.C were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
